Margo Robinson Obituary

Margo Robinson entered this life on September 9, 1940 in Flushing, NY to the late Joseph Reed and the late Naomi Brooks Reed, the eldest of three children. Margo grew up in Bayside and Corona, Queens. She was educated in the New York Public School System and graduated from Flushing High School. In 1959 Margo married James Robinson, that union was blessed with three children: Edward, Lynn, and James. She later moved to Jamaica, Queens where she lived the rest of her time here with us on earth. Margo was blessed with many talents. She knew how to make you laugh. But, Margo was best known for her dancing at barbeques, or where ever there was music! Margo invented "Twerking” decades before the dance craze became popular. She would sing all the lyrics to a special tribute “Happy Birthday to You", which was always the best gift for an early morning wake up or phone call on your special day. Margo was also known for singing her favorite song, "Sittin by the Ya-Ya, waitin for the La-La", Awwhoup! Awwhoop! Margo was affectionately known as "Phat Nannie" and passionately known as "Go-Go" to all that loved her. She also gave pet names to her loved ones. Margo was a lively and kind person she opened her door to anyone that needed a place to stay. She loved to cook and enjoyed feeding people. That made her happy. On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, Margo Robinson was called home to glory. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Reed. She leaves to cherish loving memories: her sister Ramona Reed of South Carolina; Her children, Edward(Chet), Lynn (baby Lynn), James(Jimmy), and Pierre “special son”; beloved friend, James " Papa" Robinson; grandchildren, Tyniera (Newie), Bashair (Shorty), Baarik (Ricky), Hakiim (Ha), Asante (Siga San), Trimell (Mel-Mel), Touron (Kool-Aid), Raven, Kapreme, and Miamor and Marina, 11 great-grands.
