MASSENA – Mr. Richard Douglas “Ricky” Fadden, 60, formerly of Potsdam and Norwood, unexpectedly passed away Friday at this home in Massena.

Ricky was born June 15, 1956 in Potsdam, the son of the late Martin and Janet LaCoss Fadden. He attended Potsdam school and served his country in the Marine Corps for 2 years. After the military, he worked as a welder in Reno, Nevada for over 20 years before returning to the North Country. He was a member of the Norwood American Legion Post #68 and had a great love for history, especially World War II history. He was an avid reader and always found great enjoyment in fishing and listening to 70’s Rock-n-Roll music.

Ricky is survived by his siblings, Marcia Sullivan-Marin of Potsdam; Martin S. and Gladys Fadden of Houston, Texas; Nora and Michael Darling of Massena; and Bonnie Dause of Massena; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Shannon Sullivan, Cameron Marin, Megan LaPrade, Erin Foster, Katie and Haley Dause; and Nathaniel and Andrew Darling.

A memorial service will be held at the Norwood American Legion, 10 Maple Street, Norwood, Sunday, December 4 at 2 PM with a reception and celebration of his to follow until 4:00 PM.
