STELLA M. JACOBS-HERNE

AKWESASNE – Mrs. Stella Margaret Jacobs-Herne, 53, entered the Spirit World on Tuesday morning, December 27, 2016.

Stella was born December 17, 1963 in Cornwall, the daughter of James Dewey Jacobs and Mona Hall. She attended St. Regis Village School, General Vanier High School, and graduated from Fowler High School in Syracuse.

Stella worked for various businesses in Akwesasne. She was a member of the Akwesasne Death Benefits Group and enjoyed beading, babysitting, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Wade; her sons, Matthew Jacobs and Spencer Jacobs and his companion, Alene Boots; her grandson, Karter; her father, James Dewey Jacobs and his companion, Yvonne Smoke; her mother, Mona Hall; her sister, Theresa Jacobs and her companion Roy Thompson; and half sisters, Jamie Jacobs and Robin Jacco. She is also survived by a chosen daughter, Kara Hall; a chosen sister, Lynell Oakes; her godchildren, Taylene Hall and Dayton Leaf; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Stella was predeceased by a son Dominic Abraham Jacobs in March 1988.

Friends may call at the home of her sister, Theresa Jacobs, 79 Park Street, St. Regis beginning 2:00 PM Thursday until Saturday 1:00 PM when funeral services will be held.
