Lynn Parrott Obituary

Lynn Francis Parrott was born January 13, 1939, at Wickersham Hospital in Brooklyn - the second son of four boys to Harold and Josephine (Brady)Parrott. He grew up in Rockaway Beach, NY attended St.Francis de Sales elementary school, Brooklyn Prep High School and graduated from Holy Cross College with a BS in Marketing and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. In 1960 Lynn married his childhood sweetheart and served for 3 years in Tripoli, Libya where their first 2 children were born and a third when they returned to the USA. Lynn moved his family to Congers in 1965 and began a career on Madison Avenue at Batten, Barton, Durstin & Osbourne ad agency and then as Director of Advertising and Marketing for Pepsi Cola International for 20 years. His second career was marketing financial products with John Hancock until his retirement in 2005. Lynn was an outstanding student athlete - in high school he was all city in baseball and played against Joe Torre. He was the "batboy" for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the mid-forties. He played and coached baseball (CYO) and little league. He was a top tennis player and platform tennis player at the Nyack Field Club for 40 years -golf was also his passion. He has been an active member in St. Paul's church in Congers , St. Francis of Assisi and most recently St. Gregory Barbarito and the American Legion. His greatest passion was his family -his wife of 56 years -his three children and 8 grandchildren. He was a great gentleman and a loyal friend, fierce competitor and full of "Poppy stories". He will be missed and celebrated for all he taught by love and examples of his life. He is survived by his loving wife Dotty, his oldest daughter Theresa Zwernemann(Jerry), Danielle, Briana, Olivia. His son Danny (Linda) Mike, John and his daughter Kiffy Jacaruso (Jeff) Jake, Travis and Wes and two brothers Peter and Brian. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4PM to 8 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church in West Nyack, NY.
