Obituary
CAROLYN M. MITCHELL
MADRID – Ms. Carolyn M. Mitchell, 66, of Dailey Ridge Road, peacefully passed away Wednesday evening, January 18, 2017 at the home of her sister, Kay Ramsay, in West Potsdam with her loving family by her side.
Carolyn was born March 21, 1950 in Potsdam, the daughter of Harold W. and Lena Doris (Munson) Mitchell. She was a 1969 graduate of Potsdam High School and achieved her Associates Degree from Canton ATC in 1971.
In 1971, she started working for the Social Security Administration, retiring on July 2, 1999 as a Data Review Technician in their Ogdensburg office. Carolyn was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene, where she served as their treasurer for 40 years.
Carolyn is survived by her sisters, Doris Hunt of Potsdam; Letha and Allen Chase of Potsdam; Kay and Edward Ramsay of West Potsdam; and Ann MacAdam of Sacramento, California; her brothers, James K. and Teresa Mitchell of Norwood; Kenneth W. and Tracy Mitchell of Waddington; Mark and Kathleen Mitchell of Halifax, Massachusetts; and Ronald and Geraldine Mitchell of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Cox and Alice Mitchell and two brothers, Donald R. and Lawrence H. Mitchell.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in Sanfordville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where memories and condolences may be shared online at www.donaldsonfh.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Potsdam Church of the Nazarene.
