Rensselaer-Helen Clark Brown Schneider, age, 86 years, of Mann Avenue passed away Wednesday January 16, 2013 at her residence after a long illness. She was born in Dundee Scotland and has lived in Rensselaer for 60 years. Helen was employed in the cafeteria for the Rensselaer City School District. She was a 50-year member of the Sunset Evening Stars bowling league at Sunset Lanes. Helen loved to travel, crochet afghans, enjoyed NCIS the television series, but her biggest love was her family.
Daughter of the late Andrew and Jane McCall Laing Brown; beloved wife of 64 years of Rudy Schneider of Rensselaer; loving mother of Andrea (Don) Cook, Beverly (Paul) Hughes and Debbie (Michael, Sr.) Ganance all of Rensselaer; loving grandmother of Lia (Dan) Higgins, Amy (Don) Romano, Rudy Hughes, Matthew Hughes, Kristy Ganance, Nicole Ganance, Michael Ganance, Jr., Alex Cook and Amanda Cook; great-grandmother of Eddie Bizzarro; sister of the late Ralph Brown; sister-in-law of Eleanor Brown and John and Ceil Schneider. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Monday evening at 7:00. All are welcome to attend. Relative and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday prior to the service from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
