MARIE ROSE AIELLO HAINES, age 83, of Rome, passed away on November 25, 2016. She was born in Rome on November 24, 1933 to the late Giachino and Maria (Scullino) Aiello. She was educated in the Rome Schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy in1952. In 1974, she married Colonel Franklyn Haines and together, they shared the most wonderful years of their lives before the Lord called him home much too soon in 1985. She worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for over 40 years, retiring in 1994. She belonged to the Church of St. John the Baptist, the Rome Theresians, and the Nocturnal Adoration Society. She had great love and devotion to our Lord and our Lady. Marie lived life, every minute, she did it all. From garage sales to breakfast out in the middle of nowhere, she lived every minute of every day. A lesson we can all learn and take with from her, live life and do it now! Marie is survived by her daughter and son in law, Lani and Mark Hale of Ava; stepdaughters, Melinda (William) Hodges of Woodbridge, VA, and Marsha (David) Nicodemo of Los Gatos, CA; grandchildren, BreAnne Backus, Jenna Decker, and Aaron Tarbania; great granddaughters, Delaney and Elowyn; a sister, Sara Lanzafame; a sister in law, Fran Aiello; and a brother in law, Jack Rotolo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Franklyn; her sisters, Frances Rotolo, Nettie Muttillo, and Jennie Pettinelli; her brothers, John and Dominick “Pep” Aiello; and her brothers in law, Angelo Muttillo and Antonio Pettinelli.
