Pasqualina Angelicola Obituary

Lillian Angelicola, 90 passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Celenza Valfortore Italy, and married the love of her life, Nicola Angelicola October 30, 1950. They fulfilled their dream of immigrating to the United States in 1955 to provide their family with the opportunities available in America. Lillian devoted her life to caring for her family, and to provide child care to many children who lovingly referred to her as “nonni”, even as adults. The memory of Lillian will be cherished by all who knew her for the love and compassion she showed for others and for her willingness to quietly serve those in need. Lillian worked very hard to instill these qualities in her children and grandchildren. Lillian is survived by Nicola Angelicola, her devoted husband of 66 years, three sons and daughters in law Leo and Rozanne Angelicola, Rome, Riccardo and Joan Angelicola, Greensboro, NC, Roberto and Lynne Angelicola, Rome and a daughter and son in law, Rita and Ernie Cavalier of New Hartford. Lillian was most proud of her treasured grandchildren Tricia DiNunzio, Michele Lance, Salvatore Cavalier, Bianca Bower, Marina Angelicola – Richardson, Nicolas Angelicola, Meryl Lee, Rick Angelicola and Michael Angelicola and was blessed with 12 great grandchildren who provided her with endless joy. The family would like to offer the most sincere thanks to everyone at St. Luke’s Home in New Hartford for their attentive care and compassion. A special thanks to Lillian’s caregivers, Geri Pasqualetti and Rosemary Vasile who treated Lillian like a treasured family member. Their loving care and compassion will never be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio, will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 10:30 am at the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Rome. Interment will be at Saint John the Baptist Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street, Rome, Friday 5 to 8 pm.
