Robert Louis Pagano

Robert L. Pagano, age 77, of Rome, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical. Robert was born on December 30, 1938 in Flint, MI to the late Jerry and Alice Hamann Pagano. After his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring honorably as a TSgt in 1978 after 20 years of service. On July 29, 1967, he was united in marriage to the former Patricia McNiece. Robert worked as a trainer for the U.S. Military for Air Force Engineering and Tatical Services. Robert was a handyman and could fix anything. He taught the AARP safe driving course for 10 years at St. Paul’s Church and was also a volunteer driver for the DAV for 10 years. He also was a driver for JoAnn’s Flowers for 12 years and Empire Drugs in Rome for 10 years. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pat; two daughters, Donna Pagano of Staten Island, and Nancy Pagano of Jersey City, NJ; a son and daughter in law, John and Anna Pagano of Queen Creek, AZ; and nine grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Gideon, Sophie, Levi, Silas, Truley Grace, Troy, and Kyle. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Pagano. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, with the Rev. Robert L. Kelly officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Church Social Ministry and/or the Jervis Public Library.
