Maria Scherer
Maria Louisa Olivieri Scherer, 53, of Liberty, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in Liberty. She was born in the Bronx on November 27, 1963, the daughter of Ernesto Olivieri and Concetta Romasco Olivieri, who survive. A former resident of S. Carolina, Maria was a certified nurses aide. After returning to New York, she had her own business, 4everflowers by Maria Louisa. She was a political activist, enjoyed crocheting, and caretaking of animals. She had an artistic ability, winning a Grahamsville Craft show two years in a row, and created costumes and floats for Halloween parades winning trophies three years. Maria also was a soccer mom, videotaping sporting events at school, although being legally blind. She is survived by her parents; Children: Rebecca and Michael Scherer; life partner Robert Summers; Siblings: Gina, David, Lisa, and Erica; Niece Kacie, and Nephew Dominick. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Clinton St.,Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Marys Cemetery.
