William Taylor

William “Bill” Taylor, 95, of Black Mountain, passed away January 16, 2017. Bill served in the Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant. He was a flight instructor, a member of the Civil Air Patrol, a member of Black Mountain United Methodist Church, and he loved fixing things and flying. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Taylor; wife of 69 years, Ellen Denton Taylor; son, Richard Taylor; and brother, James E. Taylor, Jr. Bill is survived by his children, William J. Taylor (Judith), Janet Parker (John), Lynn Watkins (Robert), and Joan Ramsey (Steven); 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Black Mountain United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at Black Mountain United Methodist Church. Donations may be made to Black Mountain United Methodist Church, PO Box 517, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
