Brevard - Ophelia Chappell Galloway, 90, passed away January 5, 2017 with family members by her side. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Nettie Chappell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Nealis Galloway, an infant son, Travis Ronnie Galloway, and siblings Claude, Ralph, Arnold, Melvin, and Donald Chappell. Ophelia was a mother and homemaker. She is survived by her children Gladys Owen (JD) of Brevard, Deloris Jean McCall (Edward) of Pisgah Forest, Carolyn Berkshire of Brevard, Evelyn Owen of Brevard, Lisa Faye Francis (Melvin) of Six Mile, SC, Charles Galloway (Marie) of Augusta, Ga., Carl Galloway (Charlene) of Cedar Mountain, Stanley Galloway (Pat) of Lake Toxaway, and John Earl Galloway (Diane) of Brevard, 22 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Clark Chappell, Jr. of Rosman, sisters Jewell Shelton of Rosman and Gnelle McCall of Horse Shoe, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, January 8th from 2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. at Moody Connolly Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be Monday, January 9th at 1:00p.m. at Moody Connolly Funeral Home, with Rev.
