Maggie Hubbard

Ms. Maggie Belle Hubbard of Forest City, NC, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 in Rutherfordton, NC. She was born in Rutherford County on February 26, 1922 and was 94 years old. Ms. Hubbard is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Eva McFarland and step-father, Mr. Lawson McFarland. She is survived by her son, Mr. Bobby Eugene Hubbard of Kings Mountain, NC; two granddaughters, Mrs. Teresa H. Brady of Cherryville, NC and her husband, Dwayne Brady; and Mrs. Lisa H. Henley of Tega Cay, SC and her husband, Chris Henley; three great-grandsons; Dalton Brady, Jacob Henley, and Luke Henley; and three siblings; Mr. J.D. McFarland, Mrs. Blanch Ledbetter, and Mrs. Mary Sue Conner. Ms. Hubbard loved to travel. She has been to all of the states in America and she has traveled to many cities in other countries, including her favorites, Paris and London. Fall was her favorite season and she loved going to the mountains and riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Ms. Hubbard was an avid gardener. She always had a large and bountiful garden every summer. She enjoyed planting flowers and digging in the dirt. She spent a lot of time with her family and loved seeing her family come home for the holidays. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Duncan’s Creek Presbyterian Church in Ellenboro, NC. Viewing will begin at 2 p.m. with church service following at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service. Memorials may be given to Duncan’s Creek Presbyterian Church1658 Duncan’s Creek Road Ellenboro, NC 28040 in memory of Ms. Maggie Belle Hubbard.
