Mr. Ralph Hoyle Taylor, “Poppy” age 67 of Forest City, NC went to his Heavenly Home on Friday December 2, 2016 while being cared for at Rutherford County Hospice. Ralph loved his family dearly especially spending time with his grandchildren Trevor and Taylor James. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly appreciated the wonders of the great outdoors. Ralph was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War and was instrumental in the formation of the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. In addition to his grandchildren he is survived by his wife Peggy Yelton Taylor, one daughter Tonya Taylor and husband Dan; one brother Henry Taylor and wife Diane; two sisters Hazel Bowyer and husband Craig, and Alice Atkins and husband David, sister-in-law Helen Taylor, and two step grandchildren Matt and Gabrielle Taylor. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Bonner Hoyle Taylor and Kate Johnson Taylor, one brother Herman Taylor and one sister Vera Millwood. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday December 5, 2016 at Florence Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Concluding services will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors provided by The Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Sunday December 4, 2016 at Crowe’s Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Building Fund of Florence Baptist Church 201 South Broadway Street Forest City, NC 28043. Online condolences may be made at www.crowemortuary.com.
