Carol Elizabeth (Johnson) Smith, 88, Gahanna, Ohio transitioned from this life on Monday, January 9, 2017. Carol (aka, ‘Biddy’) was born on December 5, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William and Birdie Mae (Fitzhugh) Johnson. Preceded in death by devoted husband of 57 years, Walter Martin Smith and parents, William and Birdie Mae Johnson, in-laws: Karl F. and Josephine Smith. Survived by five children, Martin (Shelly) Smith, David Kevin (Joycelyn) Smith, Carol Smith Harmon, Nathan Kyle Smith all of Columbus, OH and Carla Smith Jones of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Jonathan (Ebony), David Jr. and Adam Smith; siblings, Dorothy Johnson, Alma Owens, Alfred Johnson, Sr. and Sylvia N. Davis; in-laws, Robert Smith, Ronald (Ida) Smith, Patricia Smith and Maggie Martin Johnson, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, godson, Kenneth Devin Jordan Shaw, II; special son, Rufus H. Jones, III; and dear friend, Thelma Bernice Newman. Family will receive freinds Saturday, February 4, 2017 11am until 1pm at New Covenant Believers' Church, 3400 Kohr Blvd, Bishop Howard Tillman, officiating, where the Service of Memory will begin at 1pm.
