Victor Straughter

Victor Straughter Sr. went home to be with Jesus on December 13th 2016. He was born on June 24, 1945 to Kenneth and Capitola Straughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Gail Maria Talley and Margaret Ransom. He is survived by his son, Victor Straughter Jr.; daughters Dionna L. (Percell) Gaskins and Tamara M. (Alan) Cornelius; sisters, Nanci Ransom, Patricia Scott and Sharon (Alfred) Gooch; brother, Larry Straughter; grandchildren: Victoria, Bianca, Jordan, Cameron, Avery, Aubree Straughter, PJ and Hannah Gaskins, Chip (Angel) Cornelius, and great grandchildren; Cashes, Jerry and Unique Johnson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones who were just as much like family. Victor Straughter Sr. was retired and served in a host of jobs throughout his 71 years, including United Postal Service Driver, Columbus City Bus Driver, and was also a Fireman. Victor was also the family mechanic who knew how to fix just about anything, but who could also build anything. He lived a very humble life and would do anything for anyone who was in need. He served in the United States Armed Services during the Vietnam War. Funeral location will be at Caliman Funeral Home 3700 Refugee Rd. Columbus, Ohio, Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery 1340 Woodland Ave. Columbus, Ohio.
