Evelyn Powers Obituary

Evelyn Iris Powers, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 09, 2016 at her home in Beavercreek, Ohio. Evelyn was born in Mt. Hope West Virginia on August 20, 1940. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; Charles Edward Hamilton and Anna Margaret Hamilton, her husband of 48 years; William Kenneth Powers, and son; Gary Douglas Powers. She was also preceded in death by 6 sisters and 1 brother; Margaret Jacobs, Lucille Nottingham, Pauline Shawver, Julia Underwood, Lillian Collins, Charles R. Hamilton, and Betty Carter.


Evelyn is survived by her children; William Powers Jr. (Joy), Linda Powers, and Christopher Powers (Lisa), grandchildren; Tod Powers, William Powers III (Anna), Jennifer Powers, Nathan Powers (Sarah), Justin Lackey, Scott Powers (Jackie), and Melinda Keith (Justin), great-grandchildren; Josephyne Powers, William Powers IV, Daniel Calton, Rayne Powers, and Logan Keith, Sister; Martha Hamilton, Sister in law; Helen Couser, and other family and friends. Evelyn was loved by all who knew her, and she will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Evelyn's life at Schlientz and Moore Funeral home in Dayton, Ohio, on May 20th from 12-2 PM. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton in Evelyn's honor.
