Funeral services for Alfred Clinton "Clint" Burns, 75, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Fort Gibson Church of Christ with Henry Petree officiating. Pallbearers will be Raymond Burns, Clinton "Bud" Burns, Earnie Sturgeon, Todd Fritsche, Dustin Adams, and Brandon Cole. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.
Clint was born July 26, 1937 at Pryor, OK, the son of Edwin Parker Burns and Lula Elizabeth (Webster) Burns and died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Muskogee. On July 21, 1957 he married Mary Lou Martin in Stigler, OK. Clint served his country in the U. S. Army and then served with the National Guard 45th Infantry Division where he retired as a Sergeant. He had a love of trading, woodworking, and raising anything from vegetables, to rabbits, to quail, and prided himself on being self-sufficient. He was a member of the Fort Gibson Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; children, Raymond Alan Burns and Julia Ferrin of Port Lavaca, TX, Charlotte Ann Sturgeon and husband, William "Earnie" Sturgeon of Fort Gibson, Mary Arlene Kennedy and husband, Terry Longmire, of Hulbert, Vickie Angela Cox and Tim Cox of Pearland, TX, Clinton Adam Burns and wife, Sheree, of Fort Gibson, and Debbie Singleton of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Jamie Adams, Adrian Mason, Anna Davis, Mary-Kate Sturgeon, Brandon Cole, Kristal Cole, Kevin Cole, Brandon Kennedy, Jeremy Kennedy, Kacee Kennedy, Todd Fritsche, Luke Cox, Chad Singleton, Katie Singleton, Christine Taylor, and Chris Smith; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Parker Burns; mother, Lula Elizabeth (Webster) Burns Corder; and "Dad" Elmer Corder.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
