Guinn Brock Obituary

Guinn Dale Brock, born November 29, 1931, passed from this life on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the age of 81. He was a loving husband and father and provided well for his family. Guinn retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company after 39 years of loyal service. Prior to this, he was a dairy farmer. As a student at Oktaha High School, he was recognized for his strong character and responsibility and was asked by the superintendent to drive a school bus while still a sophomore. Among his awards was a special recognition for 12 years of perfect attendance. His family was his life and he was strongly protective of them. His parents helped charter the Elm Grove Assembly of God Church where he attended regularly for years and served as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and youth leader. Guinn had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and enjoyed his children’s musical talents. Education and music were very important to him and he instilled that importance in his children and grandchildren. Boxing was a favorite sport of his as he enjoyed boxing in his youth. Fishing was also one of his youthful pastimes and on one such overnight fishing trip, he and a friend, Carnell Hiner, took their boat from Muskogee to Ft. Smith, AR, before the navigation system was developed. Humphrey of Muskogee, OK. Guinn was dearly loved and will be missed by all his family and friends. Funeral services for Guinn Dale Brock will be held at 1:00 P.M.
