Helen Jane McClure Masheter Burch, 95 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away May 3, 2010 in Oklahoma City. Services will be at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jay Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.
She was born near Stillwater August 21, 1914 to Lyman and Laura McClure, both deceased. Helen was the last living of their six children – two brothers, Robert and Lyman, three sisters, Aileen James, Ruth Van Deventer and Louise Mueller.
On November 22, 1936 she was married to William James Masheter, who died in 1976. She is preceded in death by two sons, Jerry McClure Masheter, who passed away in 1962 and William James Masheter, who passed away in 2007. Helen was a graduate of Stillwater High school, Blackwood-Davis Business College and for several years was an insurance company employee. For thirty-one years she was a devoted volunteer in the Integris Baptist Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary, serving as their second President and later as State Chairperson of the Oklahoma Hospital Volunteers Auxiliary and a term as a member of the Hospital Governing Board. Helen was a fifty year plus member of the First Baptist Church, Oklahoma City and also a member for many years of the Reviewers Coterie Book Club.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Mary Anne Masheter Alaman and husband Lawrence, Richardson, Texas; Kay Lynn Masheter Deal and husband David Cornish, Maine; three great grandchildren Anna Alaman, Richardson, Texas, Haydn and Andrew Deal, Cornish, Maine; brother-in-law Harold Schroeder, Oklahoma City and many beloved nieces, nephews and family friends.
