Wilson - Graveside Inurnment Services for Mr. Donald "Donnie" Robert Smith, 69, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday February 24, 2017 at the Lone Grove Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Donnie was born on February 26, 1947 in Ardmore to the late Ernest E. Smith and Iva (Brummit) Smith. He departed this life on February 19, 2017.

Donnie was raised in Lone Grove attending school there. Later he moved to California where he met and fell in love with Marilyn Evans. They were married on March 12, 1966 in California. They moved to Lone Grove in 1980 to be closer to his family. Donnie worked side by side with his father building trailers in Lone Grove. He loved fishing and playing the guitar. He was very musically talented.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Ernesteen Dickerson; and his brothers Perry Smith and Kenneth Smith

Donnie is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home; sons, Don Smith and wife Jackie of Wilson and Steven Smith and wife Tracie of Ft. Worth; brother, Arthur Smith and wife Carolyn of Lone Grove; sister, Marsha Nichols and husband Lee of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Jake Smith and one on the way Rylynn Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary Bearers are Clyde Reeves, Bob Goodsby, Chad Nichols, Ricky Smith, Kenny Lamb, and Danny Spradling.
