Gladys Campbell Murray Born July 26, 1929, died November 8, 2016 Gladys C. Murray, 87 of Bellefonte died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Juniper Village Wellspring Memory Care Center.   Preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Murray, parents Earl Zucker Campbell and Alice Florence Campbell, and sisters Lorraine Stevens and Joyce Rehrig.  Survived by children Christine Murray Smith and her husband Mark of Hickory, NC, R. Kevin Murray and his wife Pamela of Port Matilda, PA and David L. Murray and his wife Marlene, of Rochester, MN.  Grandchildren Amanda Murray Lauer, Adam Murray, Jill Smith Blackburn, Natalie Smith Hollar, Danelle Murray, Josiah Murray, Isaiah Murray, Elijah Murray and Simeon Murray all survive. She was born Gladys Virginia Campbell on July 26, 1929 in Hazleton, PA.  She graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1947. Gladys married Robert A. (Bob) Murray on August 1, 1953 in the First Presbyterian Church in Bellefonte, PA.  They were co-owners of the Bellefonte Hardware company until they sold the business in 1978.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte, PA.   Gladys worked for 23 years as the Historian of the Historical Museum and Pennsylvania Room at the Centre County Library.  Gladys helped to establish the museum as a premier center for genealogical research and original Pennsylvania county historical records.   She devoted much time to the research and preservation of historical and ancestral records and did part-time work locating genealogical records for numerous families.  She is remembered as a caring wife and mother, avid gardener, and animal lover. Friends will be received on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Andrew Morgan officiating.   Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Zion Union Cemetery, Walker Township.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Centre County Library and Historical Museum, 203 North Allegheny Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
