John A. Wallace III, 62, of Bellefonte, died Monday, December 5, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born on April 8, 1954, in Bellefonte, PA. He was the son of John A. Wallce Jr., who survives, and Dorothy M. Wallace. He graduated from the Bellefonte Area High School in 1973. Following graduation, he worked at various locations including Sears, J.C. Penney and Supelco. John enjoyed fishing, Penn State athletics, Spikes baseball and spending time with his nephews and niece. John had an excitement for life and he brightened anywhere he went with his beautiful smile. In addition to his father, he is survived by one brother, Mark Wallace of Lakewood, CO, and one sister, Marianne Van Tilburg and her husband, Gerrit, of State College, PA, nephews Neil Van Tilburg, Scott and Mitchell Wallace and one niece, Kristen Van Tilburg. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte. Friends will be received prior to the mass from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. The interment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff, volunteers and residents at Centre Crest Nursing Home for their love and friendship towards John.
