Joseph Harvey

Joseph W. Harvey, 57, of Centre Hall, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born on February 16, 1959, in Bellefonte, he was the son of Norman Richard “Dick” Harvey who survives at home, and the late Rose Marie Nelo who preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Jody Lynn Weaver of Centre Hall. Joseph was a 1977 graduate of Bellefonte High School, where he participated in football and track and attended Penn State University. He worked as a utility miner at Graymont. Joseph enjoyed his time working at the PA Fish Commission. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and his 30 years with Jody Lynn. Above all, Joe enjoyed making people happy. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by one step-son, Branden Weaver (Jennifer) of Howard, three brothers: Michael D. Harvey of Virginia, Stephen W. Harvey of Bellefonte, Daniel T. Harvey (Lori) of Julian and one sister, Patricia A. Johnson of New Jersey. Also surviving are two step- grandchildren: Brenna Weaver and Blake Weaver, three nieces: Jennifer Johnson, Alysson Johnson, Danielle Harvey, and two nephews: Eddie Johnson and Dylan Harvey. There will be a public viewing on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Father George Jakopac officiating. Burial will follow in Fair View Cemetery, Loganton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to American Liver Foundation at 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, NY, New York, 10006.
