Leona Esther DeBrasky

Leona Esther DeBrasky, 82 of Bellefonte, passed away January 21, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born in Bellefonte on March 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William Morrison and Virginia (Cupp) Morrison. On January 30, 1954 in Winchester, VA, she married Richard DeBrasky, who survives at home. Leona was a 1953 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and work as a floral designer for Bi-Lo in Bellefonte. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Corinne Bettger (Jack), Susan Johnson (Rick), Beth Hollobaugh (Don), Deanna Thomas (Blake); eight grandchildren, Cristina, Dan, Christopher, Karen, Eric, Allison, Morgan, Tyson; two great-grandchildren, Stella and Charlotte. She was the last of her generation. Leona was preceded in death by her siblings: Bill, Kitty, John, Martha, Donna, Larney, Lorraine and Jim. Leona, who was of the Lutheran faith, had a wonderful sense of humor and was proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed her outings with her best friends, Pat DeBrasky and Jane Morrison. Her family was most important to her and she loved staying at Plim Plaza in Ocean City, MD with her husband and other loved ones. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service Inc. of Bellefonte.
