Mary Lou Kerrick Obituary

Mary Lou Kerrick, 85, of Blakeslee, died Wednesday, November 16 in the home of her daughter, Barbara surrounded by the people she loved. She was the wife of the late George E. Kerrick. Born in West Chester, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Ida (Zimmerman) Hessler. She was a member of the Blakeslee United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women at the church, district and conference levels.. She was also a rural chaplain and a member of the Town & County Commission. Mary Lou was a 4H leader for forty years and a volunteer with both Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. She was a member of the Pocono Women's Club. She is survived by two sons, Alfred A. Kerrick and his wife Marlies of Blakeslee and William H. Kerrick and his wife Victoria of Moravia, NY; a daughter, Barbara L. Slutter and her husband Steve of Blakeslee; twelve grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 11:00 AM from the Blakeslee United Methodist Church with Rev. Joseph Healey officiating. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Bird Mission, 7 Queendale Center, Beverly, KY 40913.
