Shirley Schlegel-Lentz

Shirley M. Schlegel-Lentz, 76, of East Stroudsburg, died Monday, Dec 19 in the Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. She was the wife of Benjamin T. Lentz. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary in April. Born in Effort, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Werkheiser) Altemose. Shirley worked as a license technician at the DMV Photo Center in Snydersville for 27 years before retiring in 2010. She was also a former member of the West End Ambulance Assn. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Trevor Weiss of Palmerton, Brooke Weiss of Mary D, PA; a daughter, Renee Kresge of Kunkletown, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Altemose, and her husband Walter Schlegel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 2;00 PM from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville, with Rev. Brian Haas officiating. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. www.kresgefuneralhome.com
