Roberta Guthrie age 73of West Brownsville, PA passed away at Lafayette Manor on Saturday, January 21, 2017 where she had been since Christmas. Roberta was born to Madalon and Joseph LaVerdi on January 25, 1943 in Brownsville, PA. After graduation she was a secretary at the South Brownsville Methodist Church for many years. She married Clinton Guthrie in 1969 and they made their home in Blainsburg. She was a proud wife of Clinton (Rick) her loving husband of 45 years. She loved flowers and always made sure her yard was lovely and she loved feeding the birds. Although she had no children of her own, she helped her sister as hers' were growing up. She helped when the three nephews came along. She loved them also Clint and Roberta were God Parents to Noah Cooper. She was predeceased by her husband Clinton Guthrie and her parents Joseph and Madalon LaVerdi also her nephew, Nick Forcina and her 2 great nephews, Nicky Forcina and Noah Cooper. She is survived by her sister Cicely Forcina and brother Ambrose LaVerdi. her two nieces Lisa Kowalik and her husband John and their two children, Laura an Johnny her niece Gina Geronime and husband Jim and their daughter Lucy her niece Nicole Forcina and her four boys and fiancée Ronnie Schnurr and her niece and caregiver Lesli Cooper and husband Scott and their son Marcus. Marcus will miss his Aunt Bert who was his wrestling buddy and who loved him alot. I would like to thank Carol Hanula (the good friend) for visiting her every Saturday. I would also like to thank Lafayette Manor and all the aids and nurses, a special thank you to Beth (her favorite aid). Also a thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care for all their help. A private services was held at the Skirpan Funeral Home in Brownsville were her nephew Pastor Scott Cooper officiated. Interment was in Lafayette Memorial Park.
