Betty J. Truett, age 64, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016, at her home with her family by her side. Born December 1, 1952, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Max L and Catherine V. Courtney Perry. Mrs. Truett worked as a CNA for over 35 years. She was a member of Family Christian Fellowship. She loved spending time with her family, going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, attending church, and spending time with her husband. Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Ricky A. Truett, Sr., whom she married on December 19, 1975, three sons, David Courtney, Sr. (Melanie) of Fayetteville, PA, Andrew Monn (Kimberly) of Shippensburg, PA, and Ricky Truett, Jr. (Gina) of Shippensburg, PA; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ernie Courtney of Shippensburg, PA. In addition she will be missed by her pet dog of 20 years, Coco. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 9, 2016, from 6 -8 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202. A Memorial Service will follow on Monday, December 12, 2016, from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Family Christian Fellowship, 3301 L.W.E., Fayetteville, PA 17222. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Betty’s husband, to help offset funeral expenses.
