Ellen B. Rife, age 64, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 24, 2016, with her family by her side. Born February 14, 1952, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Clyde H. and Mary Naomi Burkholder Lehman. A 1970 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Mrs. Rife went on to Licensed Practical Nurses School, where she had graduated. Mrs. Rife worked as an L.P.N and as a homemaker, taking care of her family. Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Harold E. Rife, whom she married on August 13, 1972; three daughters, Patricia S. Grove (husband Everett) of Hanover, PA, Jennifer Sheeler (husband Kevin) of Chambersburg, PA, and Debra Rife of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Dalton, Amber, and Keith Grove; and 11 siblings, Daniel B. Lehman, Clair B. Lehman, Bertha B. Ocker, Norma B. Lehman, Harry B. Lehman, Rhoda B. Lehman, Melvin B. Lehman, Clyde B. Lehman, Miriam B. Strite, and Naomi B. Risser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary B. Martin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 10 AM at Rowe Mennonite Church, 754 Pinola Rd., Shippensburg, PA, where the Rowe Ministry will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 6-9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church above. Interment will follow the service in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Spiritrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
