Lois Hinkle Statler

Lois A. Hinkle Statler, 87, passed away Thursday evening, December 1, 2016 at the Orrstown Personal Care Home. Born March 19, 1929 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Glenn E. George and Esther Miller George Kanner. She attended the former Chambersburg High School and was employed as a Benefits Coordinator in the Human Resources Department at Chambersburg Hospital. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God. Mrs. Statler is survived by four children, Cheryl Burkholder and husband Richard of Mifflintown, PA, James A. Hinkle and wife Margaret, Peggy Horn and fiancé Seth Perry, and Glenn Hinkle and wife Teresa, all of Chambersburg; four step-children, Dennis Statler and wife Karen of Chambersburg, Melverna Brewer and husband Alex of Florida, Duane Statler and wife Janice of Chambersburg, and Marilyn Houck of Williamson; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Virginia A. Adams of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles E. Hinkle, Jr. in March of 1977 and her second husband, Donald Statler in August of 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Garry Kipe will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday and from 10:30-11:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Orrstown Personal Care Home, 3329 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, PA 17244 or to Bethel Assembly of God, 400 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
