Charlie Ray Moore

CHARLIE RAY MOORE, 77 years of Forest Hill, MD, died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He was the husband of Irene A. (Giles) Moore, and they had shared 32 years of marriage. Born on September 15, 1939 in Greenville, NC, he was a son of the late Silas and Lucy Moore and served with the United States Army for 20 years where he taught automotive repair, retiring in 1980. Charlie then secured a position working as a security guard at Aberdeen Proving Ground, retiring after 20 years of dedication. He enjoyed fishing, taking vacations and cherished his relationships with family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: Two sisters-Mary Moore and Litty Boyde A special nephew, Jermaine Jenkins and a host of loving nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Charlie Ray Moore, Jr., his siblings-Clinton Moore, Harvey Moore, Sarah Moore and Dorthy Dixon. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA where the funeral service will begin at noon. Reverend Timothy J. Hodge of Liberty Christian Center will officiate. Interment will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD. Please gather at the cemetery by 11 a.m. and wait for additional instructions that will be presented by the cemetery officials. Military honors will be presented in the funeral chapel by the Maryland National Guard Honor Guard.
