Grace E. Nelson

On February 20, 2017, Grace Elizabeth Nelson of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, passed away in York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania surrounded by her family. Born in southwestern Virginia in 1924, she was the last surviving sibling of the 14 children born to William C. and Susie K. (Counts) Tedder. As a young woman, she moved to Maryland and married the late Edward C. Schisler. For many years, she was a homemaker, then worked as a seamstress at the former Bata Shoe Company in Belcamp, Maryland and later marred the late Guy C. Nelson. Grace loved gardening, rock collecting, crocheting, cooking, baking and home canning. She was a fan of blue grass, country and gospel music. She is survived by: Five children- Hazel Borkowski of Forest Hill, MD Roy Lee Tedder of Wadsworth, OH Martha George of Street, MD Carol Hartley of White Hall, MD Cynthia Garland and her husband, Arthur of Glen Rock, PA Eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Services will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with a visitation on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by the funeral service on Saturday at 10 a.m. Funeral home staff will be outside during all services to assist with parking and handicap needs. Pastor Art Dean of New Covenant Community Church, Delta, PA will preside. Interment services will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road, Middle River, Maryland 21220.
