Robert G. Klees Obituary

Robert G. Klees, Jr., 70, husband of Barbara L. (Leister) Klees, of Red Hill, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Grand View Hospital. Born in Lansford, PA, he was the son of the late Grace (Gibson) and Robert G. Klees, Sr. He was a Marine Veteran of the Viet Nam War and earned a Purple Heart. He worked in the Lab Services Department at Merck. Bob was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown. He was a former firefighter at West Point and played the drums in the Geryville Hobo Band. Surviving along with his wife are siblings, Richard Klees and wife, Sandy of Lansdale, Gretchen Klees of Arizona and Ginny Heilemann & her husband, Bill of Telford; sister-in-law, Alma Klees of Glenside; many nieces; a nephew; a great niece and many great nephews. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Randy Klees and a sister, Judy Stevens. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Sumneytown PA 18084 with Rev. Rebecca Schanely officiating. Interment will follow in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
