Theresa M. Buratty, 79, of Breezewood, most recently of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. She was born Wednesday, December 22nd, 1937 in Penn Hills, a daughter of the late Joseph Lepovsky and Elizabeth (Sabol) Lepovsky. On September 7th, 1957 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Unity, she married Clifford L. Buratty who passed away on November 12th, 2008. She is survived by their daughter Chris Romeo and husband Mark Romeo of Ohio, A son Arnold Buratty and wife Tina (Moser) Buratty of Germantown, Maryland Four grandchildren, Chad Anderson and partner Ashley Marshall of Hagerstown, Maryland, Eric Buratty of Germantown, Maryland, Lisa Romeo of Ohio, Anthony Romeo of Ohio, A great-grandson Dallas Carter Anderson, A sister Francis Blattner of San Clemente, California, Two brothers, Robert Lepovsky and wife Marlene of Pittsburgh, Albert Lepovsky and wife Maryann of Clarion, A brother-in-law Jay Buratty and wife Joann of Berlin, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by a sister, Sister Mary Benedict, four sisters-in-law, Francis Buratty, Gladys Buratty, Rachael Feight, and Betty Coughenour, and three brothers-in-law, William Blattner, Bobby Buratty and Roger Buratty. Mrs. Buratty was a dedicated member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett for nearly 40 years. A graduate of Penn Hills High School, Teresa first worked as a cook at the Butler Valley Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in Oakmont. After her marriage to Cliff in 1957, they moved to Michigan, returning home to Bedford County where she worked as a cook at the former Howard Johnson Restaurant, Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn and Gateway Restaurant, all in Breezewood, until retiring. A caring homemaker who enjoyed reading her daily devotional as well as other writings, Theresa enjoyed watching heartwarming and action series television shows, namely Walker, Texas Ranger, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. The love and care she shared with her family she also shared with her pets, being a true animal lover at heart. She will be remembered for her commitment to church, family, and community and will be greatly missed. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 25th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett with Rev. Derek Fairman officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm, and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until departure for the church, and may share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery, Bedford.
