Barbara Shaffer Blough, 61, of Hummelstown, passed on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at her home. Born in Hershey on June 4, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. Shaffer, Sr. and Olive Shoemaker Shaffer. Barb was employed by Hershey Chocolate Company, and was a member of the Hershey Chocolate Workers’ Union Local 464. She was a 1973 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown. Barb was a member of the Church of the Redeemer United Church of Christ, Hershey. She enjoyed collecting snow globes and attending the Rainbow Dinner Theater. Most of all, Barb loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Leland G. Blough, II, of Hummelstown, Lonny G. Blough husband of Andrea M. of Middletown, and Levi “B.J.” G. Blough husband of Erin E. of Harrisburg; three sisters, Donna M. Veigle wife of Don of Millsboro, DE, and Carol L. Topper, and Nancy Jo Young wife of Ted, both of Hershey; a brother, Charles R. Shaffer, Jr. husband of Sharon of Hershey; five grandchildren, Paige M. Blough, Maizza B. Blough, Wyatt E,. Blough, Parker J. Blough, and Zayna S. Blough; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey L. Shaffer, on September 2, 2016. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at 7 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown with The Rev. Jason R. Mackey officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 6 PM until time of the service.
