Ernest C. King, 81, of Hummelstown, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, in his home surrounded by his loving family. <br> Born on July 25, 1935, in York, he was the son of the late Sherman and Dorothy Slick King. <br> Ernie was a career serviceman for the US Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. He was an inspector of military goods at the New Cumberland Army Depot. He was a graduate of Middletown High School. Ernie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing; he loved taking family vacations, and could tell stories like no one else. When his children were younger he was also active in the Boy Scouts. Ernie was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and grandfather; a friend to everyone, and enemy to none.<br>He is survived by his loving wife, Betty A. Turner King, whom he married on September 7, 1957; sons, Ernest C. King husband of Sherrie L. of Edgewater, FL, Allan J. King of Puerto Rico, Gary L. King husband of Margaret of Little Rock, AR, and Wayne P. King husband of Barbara J. of Hummelstown; daughter, Gail L. King of Hummelstown; siblings, Robert, Jim, Norma, Nancy, and Alice; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. <br> A graveside service with military honors will be held ¬¬¬¬on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11 AM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
