Robert Phillips

Robert W. Phillips, 68, of Hummelstown, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Kingston, on May 17, 1948, he was the son of Margaret S. Knapp Phillips of Hummelstown and the late Robert Phillips, Sr. Robert retired after 30 years of service as a mechanic from the former Strohman’s Bakery, Harrisburg. He was a 1966 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown. Bob was a life member of the Middletown Anglers’ & Hunters’ Association; member of the Steelton-Swatara Lodge #775, F&AM, and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 265, Hummelstown; and social member of the VFW Post 3502, Hershey. He loved being at his camp hunting and fishing; and enjoyed coin and gun collecting, and watching the History Channel. Robert is survived by his mother, Margaret; two daughters, Michelle L. Bellaman wife of Sam of Palmyra, and Bobby Jo Phillips of Columbia; a son, Robert N. Phillips fiancé of Kathy Snyder of Middletown; a brother, William A. Phillips husband of Robin of Mountain Top; a sister, Deborah A. Bowman wife of Jim of Hummelstown; five grandchildren; a granddaughter on the way; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne Phillips; sister, Sharon E. Heisey; and grandparents, William and Sallie Knapp. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2017, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. Viewings will be held in the funeral home Thursday, February 16, 2017, from 6 to 7:45 PM, and on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service. Masonic service will be held at 7:45 PM on Thursday in the funeral home.
