John P. Olesh, 97, of Irwin, Hempfield Township died Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Grove at Irwin, in North Huntingdon. He was born June 19, 1919, in Herminie son of the late Joseph and Christina (Yaros) Olesh. John is retired from the Accounting Dept. at the Elliott Company, of Jeannette and was formerly employed at Pittsburgh Reflector, of Irwin. Between John’s jobs he took time to earn his Bachelors Degree in accounting from St. Vincent College, in Latrobe. John along with his wife Anne owned and operated Olesh’s Laundromat and Convenience Store, in West Hempfield. He was a member of the St. Edward Church, in Herminie and also a member of the Elliott Retirees Club. John epically enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, boating and golfing. Surviving are his wife of 71 years Anne (Belak) Olesh; a daughter Marilyn Cantini and her husband, Al, of Irwin; a grandson Alex Cantini and his wife, Teresa, of Harrison City; two granddaughters Victoria and Madelyn Cantini. The Olesh family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to The Grove at Irwin for the care and compassion they gave to John during his stay there. There will be no viewing. Family will received friends at the St. Edward Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at which time a Memorial Mass will be celebrated.
