Donald E. Magnuson KANE Donald E. Magnuson, 89, of 134 Lincoln Street, passed away Friday (November 4, 2016) at his residence. Born June 14, 1927, in Kane, he was a son of the late Dwight and Alice Alexis Magnuson. On August 14, 1965, in Kane, he married Beverly Jones Magnuson who survives. Don was employed as a bank manager at Hamlin Bank and Trust Company for 39 years. He was the oldest member of the Kane Elks Club, a life-time member of the Moose Club and belonged to the Kane Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was a member of the American Legion, The Mt. Jewett Veteran's Club and the Kane Boosters. He was a long-time member of Tabor Evangelical Church and the Kane School Board where he served as treasurer for 42 years. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge. Don was a loyal follower of Kane Wolves sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chuck Daley Basketball (NBA). Surviving, in addition to his wife, Bev, are four children including Pamela (Victor) Bizzak of Kane; a brother, Robert (Josephine) Magnuson of Kane and Florida; four grandchildren, including Joseph Gentile III of Kane who lived with him, Mike (Alice) Bizzak of Kane, Tabatha (Josh) Gadley of Kane and Michelle (Jeremy Lefever) Bizzak of Brockway. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren Arianna Greville, Malakhi Gadley, Kianna Bizzak, Bryton Gadley, Allie Bizzak, Brianna Lefever and Brooklyn Lefever. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a brother, Leroy Magnuson; a grandson Edgar James III; and a nephew William Magnuson. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. William Waterman, pastor of Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Rev. Nancy Page co-officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Don's name can be made to the Don Magnuson Scholarship, Hamlin Bank, Fraley Street, Kane, PA 16735.
