Louis Colella

Louis R. Colella KANE Louis R. Colella, 89, previously of 301 Oak Street, died Thursday (November 3, 2016) at the Lutheran Home at Kane. Born March 10, 1927, in Kane, he was a son of Joseph and Rosina Montuoro Colella. He was a member of the Kane High School class of 1944 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. For many years he was employed by PennDot and later employed by Stackpole Ceramagnet Plant in Kane. He belonged to St. Callistus Catholic Church. Louis was a devoted son and brother. Surviving are a sister, Connie Espin of Kane; two brothers, Joseph Colella of Aurora, Colorado and Rocco (Patricia) Colella of Vacaville, California. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Vincent, Frank and Guy Colella; and two sisters, Jennie Colella and Mary Colella. Family will be receiving friends on Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the gathering space at St. Callistus Church at which time a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Callistus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Callistus Church, 342 Chase Street or the Friends' Memorial Library, 230 Chase Street, both in Kane. The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.cummingsfh.com.
