Bertrand Walter "Bert" Ochs Obituary

Age 91, of Pittsburgh, peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. Beloved Husband of Carolyn Ferguson Ochs; Loving Father of Lynne (John) Flower, Sandra (Daniel) Mihaly, and Carol (David) Darby; Proud Grandfather of Andrew and Heather Flower, Jennifer Mihaly May, Danielle Mihaly Weber, and Justin, Derek, and Stephen Darby; Proud Great Pop Pop of Jackson, Everly, and Avery; also survived by five stepchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Bert was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Simpson Ochs; his parents, Charlotte and Norman Ochs; his brothers, Harold and Kenneth Ochs; and his half brother, Ronald Vis. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army, 69th Infantry Division and received the Purple Heart. After 30 years, Bert retired from the Federal Bureau of Mines. He enjoyed the outdoors and Pittsburgh sports. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, kind nature, and most of all, love for his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 724-941-3211. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Everyone please meet at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102 on Saturday at 11 AM for a Memorial Service. Interment with full military honors will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park.
