Joan Blondell Newman, 78, passed away on December 19, 2016 at St Lucie Medical Center, in Port St Lucie, Florida. She was born on February 25, 1938 in Spangler, PA a daughter of the late Harry and Annabelle Derr Morgan. Joan married Abe Newman in 1956 in Barnesboro, PA. They were happily married for 33 years. Joan was a housewife, mother and caretaker of over 42 foster children, two of which she adopted. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Abe Newman, her parents, Harry and Annabelle Morgan, her sister Charlotte Morgan, her daughter Denise Sampson, her grandson, Brian Anthony Newman and nephew Lynn David Webb. Joan is survived by her sons, Randy (Louise) Newman of Larksville, PA, Dale (Sherrie) Newman of Glen Lyon, PA, Barry (Marcy) Newman of Port St Lucie, FL; her daughters, Darla Newman of Port St Lucie, FL, Anne Dannels of Valdosta, GA and Valerie Dannels of Valdosta GA; her sister Shirley (Leonard) Webb of Big Flats, NY, her brothers Harold (Betty Lou) of Port Matilda, PA, Sister Viola (Harland) Holden of Fort Pierce, FL, R. Duane (Dian) Morgan of Glen Campbell, PA, Darl (Nancy) Morgan of Mahaffey, PA, Harry (Kathy) Morgan of Allentown, PA. Joan is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren 17 Nieces and Nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at State College Assembly of God, 2201 University Drive, State College, PA on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Stephen Silliman officiating. The family will be greeting friends and family from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. prior to the service. Pall Bearers will be her grandsons; Dale Newman, Robert Newman, Kyler Newman and Kyle Newman; and her brothers, Harold Morgan, Duane Morgan, Darl Morgan and Harry Morgan.
