Shirley Reish Obituary

Shirley A. Reish, 85 of rural Julian, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Shirley was born on April 19, 1931 in Tyrone, PA, the daughter of the late Walter R. and Florence Ethel Weaver Stonebraker. Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte High School. On April 24, 1952 at Epworth Methodist Church in Harrisburg, she married Donald H. Reish who survives at home. Shirley was a Tax Collector for Union Township for 48 years. She was a member of Bald Eagle Valley Community Methodist Church formerly the Unionville Methodist Church. She served in many capacities including church treasurer for 15 years. Shirley was also a homemaker. Shirley is survived by her children; Debbie (Dale) Smoak of Greenwood SC, James Reish (Helena Yearick) of rural Julian, Linda (Rick) Rupp of Galveston, TX and Joanne Reish of Pennsylvania Furnace. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren, Dana (Kathryn) Smoak, Laurel Smoak, Amber Reish, Justin Reish (Megan Gardner), Ryann Rupp, Rae Rupp, and Rori Rupp; and her two great-grandchildren, Davis Smoak and Brantley Reish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Stonebraker and her sister, Betty Fisher and her great-grandson Jackson Hughes Smoak. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016, at the Bald Eagle Valley United Methodist Church, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, PA with Pastor Ronald E. Baker officiating. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 P.M. - 3 :00 P.M. with services to follow at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Union Twp., Centre Co., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bald Eagle Valley United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 111 Runville Road, Bellefonte, PA in Memory of Shirley A. Reish. The family would like to thank the staff of Centre Crest and Davita Dialysis for their loving care. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring Street, Milesburg, PA.
