Daniel P. Chrobak Obituary

Daniel P. Chrobak, 68, of Neshannock Township, passed away the afternoon of December 4, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on August 22, 1948 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Leon J. and Virginia C. Baranski Chrobak. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 38 wonderful years, the former Linda Zambelli, whom he married on August 12, 1978.


Daniel worked as a tax accountant and had served as the Chief Financial Officer for St. Francis Hospital. In his earlier years, he taught accounting at New Castle Business College. Daniel earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Youngstown State University. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 512. He enjoyed visiting casinos and was an avid golfer and sports fan, especially for Pittsburgh sports teams. Daniel’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandsons who he loved dearly.


In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by his children, Danielle Patton and husband Michael of Canton, OH and Brian J. Chrobak of New Castle; sister, Carolyn Casacchia of New Castle; grandsons, Joshua and Nicholas Patton; several nieces and nephews; and a great-niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Casacchia.


Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Friday at 9:15am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Father Joseph Codori.


Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
