IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARY A. KRAKOWSKI In the early morning hours of September 28, two months before turning 94, Mary Krakowski passed away at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown. Born in Ashley, PA, the daughter of Andrew and Mary Svetz, she was married for 67 years to Frank A. Krakowski before his death in 2011. They resided in Whitehall, PA, since the early 1950s. Mary will forever be remembered as an exceptionally dedicated housewife, mother, and grandmother whose proud career focused on lifelong hard work, caring for her family, and various services to her local churches. She was also an avid bowler and greatly enjoyed ethnic cooking, vegetable gardening, canning, and baking. She is survived by her sole child, son Francis M. Krakowski, MD (and wife Carol), of Lower Saucon Township; her sister Margaret Kordek (deceased husband Joseph), of Ashley and her brother Joseph Svetz (deceased wife Fran), of Bear Creek. She was preceded in death by her brothers Andrew, George, and John Svetz as well as by a sister Anna Ulichney, all former Ashley residents. This beloved mother and grandmother also leaves behind two grandchildren, Andrew Krakowski, MD (wife Carlisle) of San Diego, CA and Gladwyne, PA, and Lauren Mihelic (husband Greg) of Coopersburg; four great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Lily, James, and Jakob; three nephews (Joseph and Michael Kordek and David Svetz); and a niece (Marianne Shulo). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, October 14, at St. John the Baptist RCC at 924 N. Front Street, Allentown, PA, preceded there by an opportunity for friends and family to pay respects from 9AM to 10:30AM. On Saturday, October 15, calling hours will begin at 9:30AM at the chapel of St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ashley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Mary to either St. John the Baptist Church and/or the Alzheimers Association of the Lehigh Valley, 617 A Main Street, Hellertown, PA 18055.
