Gerald E. “Pete” Coy, Sr., 75, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 2, 1941 in Cleversburg, PA, Pete was a son of the late Errol V., Sr. and Curvey M. Stine Coy. Two brothers, Wilson and Wilbur Coy are also deceased. He retired April 2001 from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and then worked for Heishman Water Service, Newville. Pete attended Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg. He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Eutzy Coy, two sons, Gerald E. (Gwen) Coy, Jr. of Newville, and Bradley S. (Mindy) Coy of Fayetteville, two daughters, Carmen M. (Greg) Kelley of Newburg, and Melody A. ( Allen) Walker of Three Springs, seven brothers, Errol V. Coy, Jr. of Rainsville, AL, Clark Coy, Dalton Coy, Charles Coy, Edgar Coy, and Richard Coy, Sr. all of Shippensburg, and Daniel Coy of Orrstown, three sisters, Felicia Stevens of Chambersburg, Nancy Leisher of Shippensburg, and Linda Plasterer of Middletown, eleven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one great granddaughter on the way and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Gary L. Culler. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
