Lorraine Weikel

Lorraine S. Weikel, 88, a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was born on April 5, 1928, in Helfenstein, PA, a daughter of the late Fred and Leona Minnich Hass. Lorraine was a homemaker, working hard throughout her life by acting as the primary caregiver for her daughter, Scanna. She was a member of the Upper Strasburg United Methodist Church and a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Weikel of Roxbury; her daughter, Scanna Weikel of Shippensburg; her grandson, Jason Weikel of Upper Strasburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Clay Weikel, who died on September 1, 1992, one son in infancy, and three brothers. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Peter Beddia will officiate. Interment will follow in the Upper Strasburg Methodist Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Strasburg Methodist Church.
