Myrtle Yohe

Myrtle M. Yohe, 89, a resident at Orrstown Personal Care Home, completed her faithful earthly service to the Lord on November 13, 2016. Surrounded by family, she made her peaceful journey to Glory with family singing her favorite hymns, arriving at her final destination to the chorus of “I’ll Fly Away”. Born September 7, 1927 in Cleversburg, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Reba J. Ile Eutzy. Myrtle was a 1945 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, a member of the Cleversburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School Class and served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Adult Sunday School Class. She was Genealogy Chairman for the Shippensburg Historical Society, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 both in Shippensburg. She was a member of the Sunshine Red Hat Society of Mongul United Brethren church She worked as a Scout Leader for several years in the Brownie and Junior’s and was very involved in her church and community. She is survived by four sons, Paul R. (wife Kim) Yohe, Jr., Newburg, Brian K. Yohe, William “Jim” (wife Brenda) Yohe, all of Shippensburg and Roger L. (wife B.J.) Yohe, Newville; four daughters, Joyce Y. (husband Earl) Harding, Pittsboro, NC, Lisa K. Kelley, Emma J. (husband Tom) Baker and Lynne R. Yohe all of Shippensburg; she is also survived by her companion, Lee Whistler, daughter in-law, Judy A. Yohe; 17 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 21 step great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; five brothers, Terry L., Donald G., George G., Walter “Sam” and Jim F. Eutzy; five sisters, Lulu M. Hutchison, Grace A. Russell, Martha E. Ott, Gloria J. Coy and Pearl L. Plasterer and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Yohe who died September 29, 1983, one son, Ronald E. Yohe, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium with Pastor Barbara A. Servello officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Wednesday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cleversburg United Methodist Church, 12 Strohm Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
