John David Lewis

John David Lewis, 78, a longtime resident of Buchanan, NY, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016. David was born in Snow Shoe, PA on September 20, 1938 to the late Maurice A. and Dorothy (Preston) Lewis. David was a graduate of Snow Shoe High School and proudly served in the US Navy. After his military service, He worked for 38 years and retired from Bakers Pride Oven Company as a Manufacturing Manager for worldwide operations. David is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Helga M. Lewis of Buchanan, NY; loving children, Michelle R. Lewis, of Buchanan, NY, and Scott D. (Kim) Lewis of North Augusta, SC; brothers Robert P. Lewis of Snow Shoe, PA and Richard B. Lewis of Carlisle, PA. He is also survived by two adoring grandchildren, Connor Preston and Wyatt Randall. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Donald A. Lewis and Patrick R. Lewis. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 11-12 pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore Street, Snow Shoe, PA to be immediately followed by funeral services with burial at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of John David Lewis to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Office of Development at P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe.
